Take two thick slices of Noonie's day old bread, smear Honey Cup honey mustard
liberally over both. Cover both slices with green leaf lettuce. Then on one slice only lay smoked turkey on the lettuce,
a tomato slice on the turkey and sprinkle it with shredded carrot. Then on the lay a slice of provolone cheese over the
carrot then a green pepper ring on top of the cheese. Sprikle with sprouts. Cover with the other slice, lettuce side down.
The letuce should be stuck to the bread with honey mustard so it doesn't fall off when you turn it upside down to cover the
sandwich. Slice sandwich in half with a knife. Wrap in tightly in plastic wrap. Use too much wrap. Tape on label. Tadaaa!
Weighs one pound. Costs Four Bucks.

Second 2009 Mayoral Debate

Live Blogging the Debate
6:11 pm: I'm live blogging the debate right now. I'm sitting at home getting ready to go to the little Seven Days Mayorial Debate and Racketeering Fiesta. I'm gonna go and take notes by hand on paper and then come home and continue live blogging from here.
12 feet...really Andy, really? Dan threw that right back at him and kind of made Andy look bad. It was kind of harsh but it needed to happen. I feel bad for Andy he just cannot hang with the other guys. He is just not a good speaker. I also saw Kiss getting more and more dejected as the debate when on. I felt a hint of bitterness in his voice towards the end.
I'm glad they streamed that online. The differences between the became very clear. Andy is just not a leader, I'm sorry..nice guy though. Bob is steady, not flashy or all that impressive but not bad either. Kurt was ok tonight but he was hesitant to answer some questions which was already mentioned. Dan was great I thought. He took some shots at the candidates but his knowledge of the issues and his speaking ability was above and beyond the other candidates. I agree with the earlier posts...Wow.
No. Dan will do it all. Mayors aren't allowed to hire people to do the city's work. They are supposed to lead and do it themselves. Kiss has a great record to run on and, so far, none of the other candidates has given me any reason to vote Kiss out. Technology? You have to ask who benefits from and who would even use live blogging and all the updated technology that Smith talks about. The city has a rep as one which takes care of citizens and Kiss represents that.
Yes, I thought it was to improve efficiency and streamline operations. Web hosting, paper costs and so on are incredibly expensive. There are lots of ways to save money.
I thought that all the candidats did good jobs tonight but I felt that Kurt and Dan were, by far, the most agressive and the most articulate out of all the candidates.
Bob held his own although he was getting a little testy and was looking "dejected" as someone pointed out earlier (re: the Adam Cate affair) which Dan threw back in Bob's face because he was using taxpayer money and wasn't being upfront about it.
Andy...oh...Andy, you need to improve your debate skills here. You need to be more animated and you need more spunk. Your performance was incredibly underwhelming last night. He needed to take more shots at Kiss and Dan Smith because frankly -- I think Kurt and Dan are the front runners in this race.
However, I agree with Haik. Dan really won this debate because he had a solid command on the issues. He answered all the questions (Bob did too, I might add) and showed that he could lead (ex. talking about the waterfront, talking about technology efficiancy in government and the Adam Cate affair).
Because of IRV, I think this race is incredibly complicated. I do not know what is going to happen but something tells me that either Smith or Wright is going to be our next Mayor.
However, I also thought that Hinda Miller was going to be elected and Bob Kiss came out strong. I just hope he's knocking on doors because both Kurt and Dan have knocked on my door and no one else has.
Dan spoke in generalities and made it fairly clear that he doesn't know much about how city government works. Bob was uninspired and missed the point occasionally. Montroll focused on bizarre things (like the 12-foot setback issue) and sounded as thought he were talking to six-year-olds. Kurt consistently emophasized the theme of leadership and, his unwillingness to be pinned down on gay marriage notwithstanding, won the debate handily, in my view.
