Take two thick slices of Noonie's day old bread, smear Honey Cup honey mustard
liberally over both. Cover both slices with green leaf lettuce. Then on one slice only lay smoked turkey on the lettuce,
a tomato slice on the turkey and sprinkle it with shredded carrot. Then on the lay a slice of provolone cheese over the
carrot then a green pepper ring on top of the cheese. Sprikle with sprouts. Cover with the other slice, lettuce side down.
The letuce should be stuck to the bread with honey mustard so it doesn't fall off when you turn it upside down to cover the
sandwich. Slice sandwich in half with a knife. Wrap in tightly in plastic wrap. Use too much wrap. Tape on label. Tadaaa!
Weighs one pound. Costs Four Bucks.

Historic Local Political Ad
Friday, February 13, 2009
There's some election law that keeps Marselis Parsons from selling TV advertising time to local candidates for mayor or city council. Therefore I don't think any video ads for local candidates had ever existed before now. Please correct me if you know otherwise. This video for Bob Kiss, as far as I know, is the first. It looks like Burlington political campaigns are entering the YouTube age.
Note- This video was not produced by the Kiss campaign. It was created by an independent filmmaker and Kiss supporter named Art Bell, who tells me he hopes the Kiss campaign is not offended by his "attempt to find an interesting way to tout what I think he [Kiss] has done for us."
This is similar to what we saw in the presidential race. A lot of people made YouTube videos for Obama that were independent of the campaign as well.
I don't support Kiss, but I have to admit that was a damn good video. Not sure about all the facts in there but as far as an ad goes that was pretty good. Did not change my vote at all though because I know about ALL the issues. Bob Kiss and sexy...I don't think those two words have ever been in the same sentence before...
That's precisely what's so awesome about it. Pretty sure the facts are all correct.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who's found all this talk of 'real leadership' or the 'leadership vacuum' to be humorous given Bob's solid record.
This video really lays out the campaign very nicely without mentioning Bob's challengers at all. I wonder if someone who hasn't followed the campaign (as most people aren't yet) would understand the joke.
Pretty good ad. One again, I'd like to see some further support for the claims about the jobs. I'm not saying I disbelieve the stat, but in a small town like Burlington (vs, say, nationally), such things should be able to be supported factually.
And now, this isn't just an anti- Kiss thing, but anyone who claims job creation without addressing job loss is kinda hoping that you, as a voter, are not thinking very deeply about the issues. This is why such claims are dangerous territory...someone can always look them up.
Thank you for the kind words. I 'assume' all the facts to be correct as i took them off a piece of Kiss campaign lit that was in my door a week ago.
I admit i did not verify them but comments i have seen here and elsewhere seem to infer they are true.
I was even sent one more - that Burlington unlike most towns larger or smaller than it in New England has a $4 million rainy day fun that the writer claims Bob Kiss was instrumental in creating.
Again, i have not verified this and do not see it in any Kiss web or printed info.
It is good piece of work to be sure. Again, my comment re: stats wasn't so much aimed at you, but at such stats in general, as they're all over the place these days.
Re: the stats from the Census. Interesting. Having checked (briefly) the Labor Bureau, I didn't see anything as detailed...odd, no? Moreover, the VT Labor Dept has some stats worth taking a look at. But, comparing Burlington job creation to VT job loss, while interesting, is not actually statistically valid.
Burlington job gain vs. job loss is what matters. Jobs over time matters. If a "new job" is "created", and 6 months later, that job is eliminated, how much does it matter? The point is, statistics, without context, aren't all that useful, except as rhetoric.
I liked it. It was pretty cool. Not voting for Bob, though.
Dan Smith has been using YouTube more then the other candidates. He's got a channel and everything.
You would think that candidates would be more creative and active with technology. I mean, they all have Facebook pages and that stuff (along with websites) but YouTube would be a great way to reach out to people and using supporters to post links on blogs (like these).
All in all, it's a pretty groovy video. I wouldn't call it sexy, but it's still cool.
