Take two thick slices of Noonie's day old bread, smear Honey Cup honey mustard
liberally over both. Cover both slices with green leaf lettuce. Then on one slice only lay smoked turkey on the lettuce,
a tomato slice on the turkey and sprinkle it with shredded carrot. Then on the lay a slice of provolone cheese over the
carrot then a green pepper ring on top of the cheese. Sprikle with sprouts. Cover with the other slice, lettuce side down.
The letuce should be stuck to the bread with honey mustard so it doesn't fall off when you turn it upside down to cover the
sandwich. Slice sandwich in half with a knife. Wrap in tightly in plastic wrap. Use too much wrap. Tape on label. Tadaaa!
Weighs one pound. Costs Four Bucks.

David Cain Launches Website
Sunday, January 11, 2009
Democratic Ward 3 City Council candidate David Cain (Photo Right) has launched his campaign website. And Look! It links back here! Thanks David!
Cain, grandson of former Burlington mayor Francis Cain, is running for the seat currently held by Progressive Tim Ashe who just became a state senator. Will Ashe run for re-election in Ward 3 or are the Progs going to run someone else? I don't know yet, but I'll tell you when I do.
Ashe is not running again and the Progs have been scrambling to get someone to run against Cain, even though Cain has reached out to the Progs. Funny how it is o.k. for Tim Ashe to run as a D/P, but they won't allow Cain to run as a D/P to fill his council seat. It kind of reminds me about how the Progressive Platform explicitly states that no person should be discriminated against due to their political positions, but Dave Zuckerman thinks its completely justified to kick Ed Adrian and his family out of his farm share because Ed supported someone other than a Prog in November. "A Party of Principles"???
If Cain wins, Clarence Davis will have an meltdown. That would be something great to see.
Well, if he's knocking on doors now and forging relationships (like Kesha Ram did) than he will probably win. Remember, people wrote off Ram when she announced she was running and she knocked out the Chair of the Prog Conference in the State House.
I think that the Dems will either pick up a seat here or pick up a seat in Jane's district. They won't pick-up Kurt's seat.
Marissa Caldwell is running. Is she running as a Progressive?
I'm very worried that if she wins she'll bring the School Board's history of increasing the budget by 10% a year to the City Council. She seems completely out of touch with economic reality.
She is very Montpelier-focused and only recently had a job in Burlington - her two previous jobs were in Montpelier. It's questionable how dedicated she is to Burlington, and especially to Ward 3.
She was also essentially expelled from the Progressive Party a few years ago and has many enemies in the party. It's also questionable how well she can work with others, given her history of creating tension.
Please take a look at the Web site of David Cain's opponent, Marrisa Caldwell. You will see that all Marrisa's ides
for Burlington are about spending taxpayer money, with no ideas on how to save taxpayer money. How in the world
are we taxpayers supposed to support all Marrisa's ideas during a time of economic crisis? Her platform is a
recipe for us to be forced out of our homes. Renters will not be spared either - landlords will raise rents to pass on
Marrisa's tax hikes to their tenants.
Yikes!
Here are quotes directly from her Web site, with links.
"I will push for universal health care until we have it." - http://www.marrisacaldwell.org/healthcare Where will the money come from for universal health care? Who pays for it? That's a huge expense.
"I will support City programs and policies that make it easier for property owners to rehab and weatherize their
buildings and make that housing safety codes are strongly enforced." - http://www.marrisacaldwell.org/housing Who pays for this weatherization?
"I will advocate for continued support of the nonprofit housing groups and programs that help people keep their
homes and educate people about homeownership before they buy." - http://www.marrisacaldwell.org/housing Who pays to help keep other people in their homes?
"Work to create more affordable housing, both rental and owner-occupied" - http://www.marrisacaldwell.org/issues Who pays for this?
"support neighborhood schools" - http://www.marrisacaldwell.org/issues Who pays to keep these schools open, when consolidation saves money?
