Take two thick slices of Noonie's day old bread, smear Honey Cup honey mustard
liberally over both. Cover both slices with green leaf lettuce. Then on one slice only lay smoked turkey on the lettuce,
a tomato slice on the turkey and sprinkle it with shredded carrot. Then on the lay a slice of provolone cheese over the
carrot then a green pepper ring on top of the cheese. Sprikle with sprouts. Cover with the other slice, lettuce side down.
The letuce should be stuck to the bread with honey mustard so it doesn't fall off when you turn it upside down to cover the
sandwich. Slice sandwich in half with a knife. Wrap in tightly in plastic wrap. Use too much wrap. Tape on label. Tadaaa!

Dr. Tufo Retiring

Henry Tufo has been my father's doctor for about my whole life. Over 30 years anyway. He was my mom's doctor too, until she died in January. My dad got a letter last week announcing Tufo's retirement from his practice at the Bishop DeGoesbriand Hospital / University Health Center (UHC) on October first. My dad who is 99, will have his last appointment with Dr. Tufo next week. My father never needs any medical treatment. He thinks Tufo just wants to have him in to say goodbye.
Interesting character, Dr. Tufo is. I've never met the man, but I happen to know that he's such an institution all new Fletcher Allen employees have to learn a little about him in their orientation training. He's given a ton of money to the hospital, and he's also the one who gave Rich Tarrant and Bob Hoehl their big break, awarding them a software contract for UHC in the early 1970s. He's been the president of the UHC and later the chief operating officer of IDX.
So I guess my dad will have to find a new doctor now. Kind of a drag to have to find a new doctor when you're almost 100, but I guess that's life. You can't blame Dr. Tufo for retiring. He's got to be getting up there himself. Anyway- I wish him the best.
Thanks for taking care of my parents all these years, Dr. Tufo. And thanks for all you've done for our community. Enjoy your retirement. You've earned it.
