Take two thick slices of Noonie's day old bread, smear Honey Cup honey mustard
liberally over both. Cover both slices with green leaf lettuce. Then on one slice only lay smoked turkey on the lettuce,
a tomato slice on the turkey and sprinkle it with shredded carrot. Then on the lay a slice of provolone cheese over the
carrot then a green pepper ring on top of the cheese. Sprikle with sprouts. Cover with the other slice, lettuce side down.
The letuce should be stuck to the bread with honey mustard so it doesn't fall off when you turn it upside down to cover the
sandwich. Slice sandwich in half with a knife. Wrap in tightly in plastic wrap. Use too much wrap. Tape on label. Tadaaa!

All that resolution said is that Israel has the right to defend itself. There is nothing wrong with that. It's okay that Bernie voted in favor of it.
Of course there should have been language added that condemned Israel's disproportionate attacks on Lebanon and which called for an immediate cease fire.
But the extreemists who run the house of reps would never do that.
Does Israel remind anyone else of the jock in high school who had steroid fits? You know, the guy who would pick on everybody in his path. But as soon as someone ragged on his mother, he'd freak out and beat the crap out of the dude and his 3 friends....

What the House engaged in was a pile-on. A statement that is seen around the world as an enthusiastic endorsement of Isreal going ape-shit nuts on Lebanon. Totally unconstructive.
America should demand an immediate cease-fire. The Bush Administration is so shamefully rotten to encourage this, to delay sending Rice.
Our foreign policy is going right off a cliff and there are millions of people suffering greatly.
Look at those pictures and think of your own children. We pay for that.
Your points are all valid and well taken. I wasn't trying to charactarize your position from one sentence. I just used it as a springboard to my own thoughts.
I basically agree with you. I wouldn't have minded Bernie voting for this at any other time. But for the House to pass this now gives the impression that they endorse not only Isreal's self defense, but this brutal overkill going on right now.
