Take two thick slices of Noonie's day old bread, smear Honey Cup honey mustard
liberally over both. Cover both slices with green leaf lettuce. Then on one slice only lay smoked turkey on the lettuce,
a tomato slice on the turkey and sprinkle it with shredded carrot. Then on the lay a slice of provolone cheese over the
carrot then a green pepper ring on top of the cheese. Sprikle with sprouts. Cover with the other slice, lettuce side down.
The letuce should be stuck to the bread with honey mustard so it doesn't fall off when you turn it upside down to cover the
sandwich. Slice sandwich in half with a knife. Wrap in tightly in plastic wrap. Use too much wrap. Tape on label. Tadaaa!
Weighs one pound. Costs Four Bucks.

Fourth Mayoral Debate, Part One
Sunday, March 05, 2006
What ever happened to debate number three?
It’s hard for regular people to stay informed and involved in civics, even when it comes to local events that affect them most directly. Do you think I have the time to be doing this blahg? You people need to be thanking my wife for taking Koko and my Mom to TJ Maxx today and giving me a couple of hours to write this. Yeah, so I missed the third debate. Sue me. At least you get my take on the last one in time for the election. Poopsie says “you’re welcome.”
I arrived on “Clinton time” (late) as usual. I cracked the door to Contois and sneaked into the auditorium. I leaned against the back wall and took notes in pencil with my jacket on. There were only a few empty seats, not conveniently accessible. Many of us were opting to stand. Louie “When Cowmen Attack” Beaudin was absent, which was just as well. Bob kiss was wrapping up his opening statement...
I'm no Miller fan, but you left an important exchange out of your quote:
"VDB: ...Is it possible to get the city to accept development of the North 40?
Miller: I don't know, and I don't know if it should be developed. Even if you have park plans, you have to have infrastructure, people have to be able to get there. I'm not saying that it has to be developed."
If Ploof actually said that Miller said that she wanted to develop that parcel, he was 100% wrong. Saying that you'll look at developing it is not remotely equivalent to saying that you will develop it.
"...it’s very exciting...to think about what that [North 40] might be...What goes in? It can mean housing, I believe, it can be businesses, restaurants. It can be museums, all that stuff..."
I don't see any qualitiative difference in this case between being 'excited' about something and 'wanting' something.
Loyal was 100% Right.
Talking out of both sides of your mouth doesn't negate having talked out of one them. She said both things. That doesn't make Loyal wrong.
It was politically amature of her to respond to his accusation, but having gone that route, she should have explained what she said to Baruth, not just issued a categorical denial.
Did you mean immature or amateurish? Either way, when someone misrepresents what you said, you run the risk of that misrepresentation becoming fact in peoples' minds if you don't correct the record.
Saying that it's exciting to think about but that it might not be the right thing to do is not the same as saying that she wants to do it.
"She said both things. That doesn't make Loyal wrong."
She said she might or might not. He claimed that she said she will. That is false, a blatant misrepresentation.
Well, let's agree to disagree. I propose people go to the interview and decide for themselves if it sounds like she wants to develop the North 40. (VDB RLZ BTW.)

Thank you for visiting the very fickle and capricious BurlingtonPol this fine Sunday. We're going to have to go to a commercial break now. When we come back... The Exciting Conclusion of The Fourth Debate!
Now that you've clearly done more homework on this mayoral decision than anyone else in town Haik, I wonder if you will let us know how you plan to vote? Is that too personal a question?
I\'ve been watching Channel 3, and I plan to write-in Tarrant. He seems like a nice guy, and I think that he is qualified to be Mayor. That\'s a good place to start his political career, like Bernie.
OK Haik reported: Ploof....accused Hinda Miller of saying "in a blog" she wanted to develop that parcel.
Which, if you read the VDP interview.. is obviously true.. she "wants" that. She also says essentially, that "might or might not" happen (language of our anonymous miller supporter).. which is true no matter what she thinks or what position she does or doesn't hold: the development of the North 40 is something that will involve the entire community. That said, the vision that a person has as a leader matters... as does their integrity in standing behind that vision.
Miller did seem to lack integrity in her reply, and it was not politically astute to take the bait, as Haik has pointed out here.
Maybe O/T regarding the Urban Reserve comment, but I did also read in the oldnorthend list serv that Ms Miller has also proposed paid staff redundancies and have volunteers to save the city money.

Morning Haik,
I thought that was you sneaking into Contois :)
Kudos on the stickers... a great idea.
Jeremy and I also are Cramer fans, we listen to his show online (http://www.thestreet.com/m/radio/) when we have spare time.
Just a few quick comments :)
